Because Norton wouldn’t let me download Firefox, I am now a Chrome user. I feel like a little like a Lando (or Judas) but we’ll see how it goes.
For the past two years I have been claiming that I am a librarian (sometimes I say “information professional”). But today that became actually true as I began my first Post-MSIS job. Say hello to the newest part-time Librarian I for Round Rock Public Library. Victory!
I have my own desk and badge so I’m totes legit now.
but without kids or a husband. Or a house.
I have joined the ranks of the underemployed. I’m swimming, nay, drowning in time. But rather than letting my life become The Feminine Mystique (or reading it), I vow to do productive things. Here’s a sample list of my goals and my actual output:
Goal: learn to play guitar
Reality: I now know how to play 3 chords (5 if you count “easy C” and “easy G)
Goal: learn Spanish
Reality: I now own a Spanish/English Dictionary
Goal: cook a lot of healthy meals
Reality: last week I made some beans that were both undercooked and under-seasoned.
I’m clearly well on my way. My next goal is to actually use the domain that I purchased. Crazier things have happened.
I just explained the difference between an address bar and a search field to a patron at the library. It seems simple enough. But it was strangely satisfying. She was so grateful! I like this. I have hope for the future.
